Arctic Heat Hot & Cold Wraps - The R.I.C.E Rule
- The gel contained is supple and adapts optimally to the body part to be supplied
- There are no voids, the cold can penetrate deep into the tissue with different cold therapies.
- The Velcro straps enable the envelope to be fastened effectively and uncomplicated and individually compressed in the event of sports injuries - in accordance with the PECH rule (break - ice - compression - high camp).
The RICE rule (RICE for rest - ice - compression - high camp) summarizes the treatment measures, the application of which is recommended for muscle and joint injuries in order to keep the damage as low as possible. In English-speaking countries one speaks of RICE, which stands for rest, ice, compression, elevation
"R" for rest
Any sporting activity should be stopped immediately after the injury. The affected part of the body should be immobilized as much as possible and further stress should be avoided. A first examination is then carried out.
"i" for ice
By cooling the affected part of the body, the blood vessels are narrowed. Bleeding and swelling are reduced. The metabolism in the tissue is slowed down by cooling, and tissue damage also spreads more slowly. Furthermore, the cold relieves the pain in the affected region of the body. A procedure in intervals is recommended. After 10 minutes of cooling, there is a pause of a few minutes and the next 10 minutes of cooling follow.
"C" for compression
A compression bandage put on in time prevents bleeding and swelling from spreading. The pressure connection should be applied in such a way that blood congestion is avoided. The timely application of the Arctic Heat Hot & Cold Wraps prevents the spread of bleeding and swelling.
"E" for elevation
The injured part of the body should be elevated, if possible above the level of the heart. This improves the backflow of blood, reduces swelling and the associated pain.
These rules for primary care must be applied in parallel and immediately after the injury occurs.
Arctic Heat Hot & Cold Wraps are reusable and can be easily washed with normal detergent.
